You know? long long time ago, no one knows about the word poverty because it never existed, but now it's one of the popular word on earth for it is also the popular problem. Poverty is the only illness that has no cure. Its the number one killer of all time. It already killed millions of people around the world.
Did you ever experience being poor in your whole life, I mean really poor? Believe it or not, there was a year of my life when I was a victim of poverty. I spent my whole Grade II life as a child from a poor family. My mother and father never got together as a family. I lived with my very young mom and I saw poverty in my life. Its so easy to become poor but its never easy to be poor. As a seven year old child, I've learned to wake up early in the morning in order to help my mother on the household choirs, to go to the river with my cousins to take a bath even before the sun rises, and to walk a two kilometer distance from home to school and vice versa even its raining hard. That's how unfair life is when you are poor to the extent that you must make sacrifices for you to achieve your dreams, that's why my mother signed that adoption paper.
I'm sure what I experienced is nothing compared to other children out there in the streets. We must be thankful of what we have because many other people can never experience what we experience.

poverty is the biggest issue!
ReplyDeleteyeah. we should always be thankful on what we have because we're so lucky compared to others.
we are blessed 'coz we're given the privilege to study in a prestigious school and all.
be thankful
=))
It is seriously a popular problem. and yah,it killed a lot of people and it would still if this problem would not be given proper attention.
ReplyDeleteuhm..
please don't mind.whose adoption paper do you mean?
it's amazing to hear that despite the hardships you have encountered, still you are the marc i know now...a funny nice guy...
ReplyDeletei know living far from the city proper is really different especially when it comes to everyday responsibilities and lifestyle...i mean, i'm not really in the position to say that since i don;t need to wake up early just to take a bath in the river but i was raised by stories similar to that. my lolo is also poor who happen to spend half of his life in the mountains...but honestly speaking, i'm happy as to watch you achieve. you never allowed poverty to be a hindrance for your dreams :)
by the way, LIFE isn't UNFAIR...think of it as something like a challenge/journey for you to surpass because there is ALWAYS A REASON for EVERYTHING...think positive!
:)
Life is unfair and imperfect. Poverty, as one of the most popular problems, is really hard to solve. I think it needs a lot of effort and the government must hear the poor people's plea.
ReplyDeleteYou've got a not so good experience when you were still a child, but you grew up to be a fine man. :D I'm glad that you are thankful and actually we're really not "lucky" but "blessed".
ahmmm...I'm familiar with your life story about poverty, but I never encountered/meet someone who has that same experience, but meeting you now gave me an inspiration to be thankful and grateful for the graces I have especially for the small ones....
